Comfort in flight is paramount to fly a glider at its maximum and we took special attention to that. Comfort in flight is only achieved with a combination of many factors, such as: pitch stability, airfoil solidity, easy and efficient rear riser steering, easy launching and good flare, good top end speed, excellent glide, refined roll and bank in thermals, good feedback pressure through brake line and handles, light speed bar pressure and a light and durable canopy. We have addressed all those points in detail on the Freedom2.
In addition to the hybrid 3-2 liner technology which reduces drag drastically offering huge gains in glide, Freedom2 also has a new shark-nose.
Unique for the Freedom2, we are introducing a new 4-ways split-A 3D A-attachment point system, adding a new level of solidity and collapse resistance to the EN B class. We call it VPA (Variable Pressure A-Attachment).
Freedom2 has a true racing pedigree with outstanding handling and agility. It's also an incredibly fun wing to fly.

Hybrid 3 to 2-line layout
The hybrid 3-2 line layout brings drastic drag reduction in comparison to the traditional 3-line layout. Ultimately translating to increased gains in performance.

Advanced shark nose
Our advanced shark nose profile is a pitch stable airfoil derived from our high-end 2-liners, which means:

3D cut optimization and advanced sail tensioning
Each panel and diagonal were structurally dimensioned and thoroughly computer analyzed to offer the most suitable chord and span-wise sail tension. The result is a canopy with less spanwise distortion giving a more taut and direct feel, offering just enough flex characteristics to give the ideal feedback.
A well-tensioned sail is especially important to offer the pilot the right amount of feedback and feel of the air. It is especially important while thermalling, to feel the nuances in areas of lift and sink more precisely, helping to find lift easier and to stay in the core for longer.
VPA system (variable pressure A-attachment)
The new 4-ways A-attachment VPA enhances the structural stability of the leading edge, keeping the AoA positive even when the glider's AoA is at negative angles.
It's a better solution geometrically and it also helps in sharing the forces more evenly throughout the leading-edge span. The increased solidity is noticeable, especially when gliding at speed in turbulent air.
When speed bar is applied, the VPA shifts the pressure to the rear lines of the "4-line split". The change in geometry turns the leading edge more stable, as the new attachment points offer better structural support at those angles — when inherently the leading edge is supposed to be softer.
It is in that flying configuration (gliding at full bar) that we observe the most critical AoA, and that is where the VPA works at its best. It mimics the same solution given to higher-end gliders, where the A-attachment points are placed further back, which helps with the centre-of-mass shift to the front lines, resulting in a stronger and more collapse-resistant leading edge at lower AoA.
New racing arc
Freedom2 has a new redesigned arc offering excellent roll authority for thermalling and centering thermals.
Near the tips we have added a fair amount of wash-out to optimise glide angle and roll stability when gliding at speed.
The new arc also helps with overall line savings in comparison to version 1. It is inspired by our high-end gliders and has a performance-oriented design.
